STRUCTURE: STRENGTHENING SERVICES

C3TS’ structural engineering staff offers specialized services in the structural upgrade and strengthening of building structures.

This specialty includes modifications to existing structural systems in order to accept additional loads from change of use or occupancy, as well as for hurricane protection upgrades. Specific examples of our experience include the FIU Golden Panther Arena, FIU Library, FIU PC Building structural glazing strengthening for hurricane protection. Using the latest in strengthening techniques, such as carbon-fiber reinforcing and external post-tensioning as well as conventional steel reinforcing, concrete floor systems can be easily strengthened for additional loading, as reflected below.
